Adhesives for the manufacture of occupational protective clothing
Occupational protective clothing has to offer reliable and maximum protection over many years. Only robust textiles and matching adhesives can be used for this purpose.
Fire protection gear
An interesting example is the manufacturing of protective fire gear, which has to reliably withstand unprecedented amounts of heat stress while giving the wearer the maximum possible freedom of movement. Adhesives used in protective fire gear therefore have to provide very high heat resistance and also have a soft textile feel.
Other protective clothing
Uniforms for security staff and the police force need to be extremely robust and provide reliable protection against sharp and pointed objects that can cause cuts and tears. They must also be comfortable and provide high freedom of movement. This type of protective clothing is made of complex laminated textiles, with reactive PUR hotmelts used as the bonding adhesives. These special textile adhesives cross-link quickly, which can cut down the storage times of the fabric rolls before delivery and lead to higher production output.
