Adhesives and foams for manufacturing and assembling of PVC and aluminium doors
When manufacturing PVC and aluminium doors, the laminated materials are usually applied in an automated process. 1C or 2C PUR assembly foams are used for installing the doors.
Outdoors
Adhesives and primers used for laminating PVC or aluminium door profiles and jambs need to have very specific properties. The products are constantly exposed to all kinds of weather conditions, such as different temperatures and humidity levels, and the bonds have to be both permanent and reliable.
KLEIBERIT offers a complete range of products to reliably glue all types of profiles and films approved for such purposes. We draw on decades of experience to provide top-quality products that meet the constantly rising market demands. All KLEIBERIT products offered for PVC door lamination purposes have been approved according to RAL GZ 716.
Reactive PUR hotmelts have established themselves with great success in this field over the past 25 years. They meet the highest requirements relating to bonding quality and economic efficiency. Our KLEIBERIT 704 hotmelt series and its matching primer systems have set a quality standard in this market. These adhesive systems are unbeatable in terms of durability and resistance to aging.
Indoors
PVC or aluminium door frames and jambs are laminated for decorative as well as functional purposes. All kinds of different films and laminates can be used, available in countless designs and haptics.
The same products can be used as for outdoor purposes. As doors inside buildings are not usually exposed to different weather conditions, an additional range of hotmelt systems are available for use. Special hotmelts are also available for rigid decor materials such CPLs. These have been specifically developed to easily absorb the high temperatures of the laminating process needed to make the CPL both flexible and seamless after lamination.
Are you looking for the right adhesive for specific needs? KLEIBERIT offers state-of-the-art reactive PUR hotmelts and has many decades of experience – please contact us for more advice.
Surface lamination of flat door panels
Flat door panels are frequently made of PVC or aluminium sandwich panels. When these are laminated, a range of different functional layers are applied in a FlatLamination process, using reactive PUR hotmelts for fast and economically efficient processing. The laminated panels can often then be directly further processed. PUR hotmelts have revolutionized this market over the past years.
KLEIBERIT has comprehensive expertise and over 25 years of experience in this sector. We can help you find the right adhesive and configure your laminating equipment to ensure high-quality and effective bonding results at all times.

Installing door jambs with PVC and aluminium profiles
As a rule, door jambs made of PVC or aluminium are very robust. They are often used as entrance or front doors and terrace and balcony doors, both in commercial and domestic buildings. We recommend using single-component PUR foams, such as KLEIBERIT 540.5 and 544.4, for installation purposes. They fill, insulate and seal reliably, and are easy to use.
Installing PVC and aluminum door frames
When installing door frames, the assembly foam has to expand quickly and, above all, fully. Door frames are usually a relatively large L- or U-shaped profile. If the foam expands at a later point in time, the thin wall material can warp, leading to an uneven door that won’t close properly.
Using our 2C PUR KLEIBERIT 535.0 door foam – a product that has been applied in millions of settings – will prevent this from happening! The foam fully hardens after 15 minutes without any post pressure, so clamping devices only need to be used for a short time. The product can be cut after just a few minutes and is easy, fast and safe to process. KLEIBERIT 535.0 is EMICODE-certified and classified as very low-emission.
